A Listing of Approved Majors/Programs leading to Certification


The following programs in Teacher Education have been approved for continued offering at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale as a result of the Illinois State Board of Education and the State Teacher Certification Board Tenth Year Periodic Review of Programs for the Preparation of Educational Personnel at SIUC:

Programs leading to entitlement to the Initial Elementary Certificate (type 03):

Programs leading to entitlement to the Initial High School Certificate (type 09):

Programs leading to entitlement to the Initial Special Certificate (type 10) (approved June 14, 2002):

The following entitlement program was approved for continued offering at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Its purpose is to prepare individuals to teach infant/preschool/primary aged children (type 04):

The programs listed below have been approved by the Illinois State Board of Education for offering in the College of Education and Human Services at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Successful completion of the programs listed leads to entitlement to the administrative endorsements identified:
